Ad Manager SmartLink Extension Module

Use this add-in to control SmartLink lighting according to the posting that is currently posted on the panel.

This extension module adds the following features to Ad Manager:

- within Tools/Options/SmartLink, the ability to configure settings for SmartLink connection that give AdManager access to the SmartLink WebServices.

- within Tools/Options/SmartLink, the ability to define a default system LightSchedule. This schedule will be used if one is not specified for a face.

- the ability to create, edit, and search for LightSchedules. LightSchedule scheduletype property determines if the schedule has 1 period, 2 periods, or no lighting.

- the ability to view a list of Faces that are currently assigned to use the LightSchedule.

- the ability to specify that a face's lighting is controlled by SmartLink and specify the SmartLink information for the face --> Plant, Structure and Panel so that AdManager can identify the corresponding panel in SmartLink.

- the ability to specify a LightSchedule for the face. If one is not specified, then the default system lightschedule will be used;

- the ability to specify a LightSchedule to be applied for a subcontract; a subcontract LightSchedule, if specified, overrides a face LightSchedule.

- the ability to publish LightSchedules for faces that are SmartLink controlled. By default, only "Active" posting schedules. The Active posting is one that is completed as "Posted" in Ad Manager and has the with the closest "PostedOn" date to today, so PostedOn <= today and is not TakenDown. Note that Posting.StartsOn cannot be used since AdManager allows more than one posting to be scheduled for a face, ex. proposals.

- the ability to turn off the lights for faces that do not have an Active posting. If selected, AdManager sends an OFF schedule for a posting that has not been replaced by a subsequent posting and is "Expired". A posting is expired if it is (TakenDown AND DownOn<=today) OR (Not TakenDown AND EndsOn<today). This allows the client to use a TakeDown task to shorten/lengthen the lighting period for a posting.

- the ability to publish the schedules to SmartLink manually or scheduled to run daily.

- the ability to publish schedules for ALL the SmartLink enabled faces in AdManager or for a single face.

- AdManager internally keeps track of the last schedule that was published for the face. During publishing, a new schedule will only be sent if it is different. The user can "Force" AdManager to send the schedule during publishing.

STEPS TO USING SMARTLINK ADD-IN:

1. Use Tools/Options/SmartLink to configure SmartLink connection and create a default LightSchedule.

2. Create LightSchedules that define on/off times to light your panels. Give it a meaningful name and code and specify via the ScheduleType if it has 1 burn period, 2 burn periods, or no burn period. Note that the +/- times for the UseSunset/UseSunrise is not actually sent to SmartLink because this setting is not exposed via the SmartLink WebService.

3. Set up the faces that you want to control the lighting via AdManager: - Open the face details and select the SmartLink tab for the face. - Check "SmartLink controlled" checkbox and then fill in the SmartLink Plant, Structure and Panel information --> if this information is not accurate, the publishing will error out. - Optionally select a LightSchedule for the face. If you don't choose one, the Tools/Options default lightschedule will be used.

4. Publish lightschedules to SmartLink:

- Manually. --> To send schedules for all faces that are "SmartLink controlled", use Tools/SmartLink/Publish SmartLink Schedules. A dialog box opens with some options: a) to turn off lights for expired postings b) resend lightschedules (to reduce data usage, AdManager internally keeps track of the last schedule sent and only sends schedule changes) Click Ok to proceed, a form opens with progress information for each face and on completion, a summary of the results. Log entries are also posted.

--> To send schedule for a single face, open the face details and run Tools/Publish Lightschedule.

- Configured. A scheduled task can be configured to run daily to update light schedules after your days postings have been entered into AdManager as completed. Log entries can be viewed for results of publishing.

5. Subcontracts also have a SmartLink tab so you can specify a special LightSchedule for the subcontract.
